Overview

The Leverett Residence project involved the complete replacement of a deteriorated asphalt driveway with a new reinforced concrete driveway system designed to provide improved durability, functionality and long-term value for the property owner.

Located on a sloping acreage property in Tallebudgera, the project required the removal and disposal of more than 400m² of existing asphalt pavement before construction of a new reinforced concrete driveway. OSM Concrete also completed crossover works, culvert construction, drainage improvements and associated earthworks to address existing water management issues and improve access throughout the property.

Through careful planning, practical design advice and efficient project delivery, OSM was able to provide a cost-effective solution that maximised value while delivering a premium finished result. The completed driveway now provides safe, reliable access and significantly improves the presentation of the property.

Scope of Works

Project Challenges

The property’s sloping terrain presented one of the key challenges throughout construction. Access for machinery, concrete placement and finishing operations required careful planning to ensure a high-quality outcome across the entire driveway alignment.

Existing drainage issues were contributing to deterioration of the original driveway. OSM incorporated culvert improvements and drainage upgrades into the project, ensuring water could be managed effectively and reducing the likelihood of future damage.

The project involved coordinating asphalt removal, material disposal, earthworks, concrete placement and drainage works within a tight construction programme. Careful scheduling allowed works to progress efficiently while maintaining quality standards throughout.

Construction & Delivery

Prior to construction, OSM worked closely with the client to review design options and develop a practical solution that balanced performance, aesthetics and budget.

The project began with the removal of the existing asphalt driveway and disposal of all materials. Earthworks were then completed to prepare the site and improve drainage outcomes before reinforcement and formwork installation commenced.

Due to the site’s layout and elevation changes, concrete pumping was utilised to efficiently place concrete in difficult-to-access areas while maintaining consistency across the finished surface.

Throughout construction, the team maintained a strong focus on quality, achieving a smooth and consistent broom finish across the entire driveway while ensuring all drainage and crossover requirements were successfully integrated.

Outcome

The completed driveway has transformed both the functionality and appearance of the property.

The new reinforced concrete driveway provides a durable long-term access solution while the upgraded culvert and drainage infrastructure now effectively manage stormwater throughout the site. The winding driveway complements the surrounding landscape and creates an attractive entrance to the residence.

Most importantly, the client was delighted with the finished result and the smooth delivery of the project from initial consultation through to completion.

This project highlights OSM Concrete’s ability to deliver practical, cost-effective solutions for complex residential sites.

From design consultation through to final construction, the project demonstrates the value of careful planning, quality workmanship and efficient project management. The combination of driveway construction, drainage improvements and culvert works resulted in a complete solution that exceeded the client’s expectations.
